Position purpose

In support of the Chief Financial Office and the Director of Finance, supports the direction and development of the long‑term organizational financial strategy and operations for Trinity Health Medical Group. The Manager of Finance is responsible for oversight of the Senior Financial Analysts. Manager will be responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques to support financial planning and control as well as providing financial business development, analytical services and recommendations that influence sound business decisions, enable delivery of business objectives and guide long‑term business planning choices within West Michigan sites, divisions or at the organizational level.

Minimum

qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Broad based experience knowledge of finance, business planning, cost accounting/service line analysis and budgeting normally obtained over five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive financial experience. Strong track record of working successfully with members of the Senior Leadership Team, operations, management and staff.

What the Finance Manager will do
  • Leadership and Management Responsibilities – Manages assigned staff – hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, disciplining and terminations;
    Ensures that policy is followed, procedures are updated and supports Finance training efforts for the organization.
  • Manages the work of assigned staff including monitoring staff competencies, hiring of new staff, orientation of new assignments, developing goals and objectives, conducting annual performance appraisal and the utilization of performance resolution process when needed.
  • Oversees and ensures consistent, efficient, and timely month‑end reporting across medical group.
  • Monitors proper reporting for all Central Administration department financials and provides guidance to staff and recommendations to leadership on allocations.
  • Provides oversight of proformas for areas such as new practices, transitioning practices, new providers, equipment purchase, new service lines, provider blend/locations, renovations, what if, breakeven, virtual care, strategic capital requests, etc. Ensures proformas are tracked for prioritization.
