At Northpointe Bank, we believe your career should empower you — to grow, contribute, and find purpose. We’re hiring a Collector to support our Loan Servicing team through delinquency management, borrower assistance, loss mitigation coordination, and collections oversight.
This role is ideal for an experienced collections professional who combines strong regulatory knowledge with exceptional customer service skills. You'll play a key role in helping borrowers navigate financial challenges while supporting departmental goals, mentoring team members, and ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do:- Serve as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for borrowers seeking loss mitigation and payment assistance
- Analyze delinquent accounts, gather financial information, and recommend appropriate workout solutions
- Coordinate with Loss Mitigation to ensure accurate follow-up and implementation of approved workout plans
- Prepare and send required RESPA notices and borrower communications
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to collections team members
- Assist with developing and maintaining collection procedures, reports, and training materials
- Monitor delinquency trends and assist leadership with reporting and portfolio performance analysis
- Calculate month-end delinquency metrics and support daily reporting activities
- Track queue volumes, field visits, and workload distribution
- Perform skip tracing activities and assist with borrower location efforts
- Monitor vendors and agencies to ensure timely and compliant completion of assigned actions
- Maintain compliance with FDCPA, RESPA, FCRA, CFPB, investor, and internal servicing requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in mortgage collections, loss mitigation, default servicing, or related functions
- Working knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, FCRA, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collection regulations
- Understanding of mortgage servicing, investor guidelines, and foreclosure processes
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and borrower communication skills
- Experience analyzing delinquency trends and recommending solutions
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and mortgage servicing platforms
- Ability to work independently while supporting team success and departmental objectives
