A well-established, multi-site capital equipment manufacturer is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead its accounting function. Based at the company's headquarters in the Gladwin, MI area, this role oversees full cycle accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and internal controls across multiple manufacturing facilities. This is a hands‑on leadership position with direct visibility to executive leadership and meaningful influence on company strategy and profitability.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead the monthly and annual close, including general ledger reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, consolidations, and management reporting in accordance with GAAP
- Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, KPIs, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses that support executive decision‑making and long‑range planning
- Manage cash and treasury operations, including liquidity monitoring, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, working capital, and compliance with financing covenants
- Own fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure reporting, and related policy compliance
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements and coordinate with external auditors
- Drive process improvements and support ERP enhancements or implementations
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi‑plant manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of supervisory experience as a Controller or in a similar leadership role
- Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, and manufacturing cost accounting, including inventory and standard costing
- Advanced ERP and Excel proficiency
- Experience with consolidations and percentage‑of‑completion accounting is a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
