Position Summary:

An internship at KSM is your stepping stone to success and your first look into what life is like as a full‑time analyst in our KSM Corporate Finance department. You’ll become part of a collaborative and inclusive workplace as you build on your technical and interpersonal skills, take on real responsibilities, work on live projects, grow your network and learn first‑hand how we deliver for our clients.

Our interns are given maximal opportunities to learn about the business at large and their specific role. The program will provide you with an outstanding understanding of the skills and experience to launch a long‑term career with us. You will learn from the best, evolve professionally as well as personally, and build a firm foundation upon which to build on later.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform financial deal analysis using historical and projected financial information
  • Perform and execute financial and industry due diligence
  • Prepare client marketing pitches and management presentations
  • Prepare valuation analysis and technical financial modeling analysis
  • Participate in our intern orientation, technical training and development programs designed to expose you to investment banking and to give you the tools needed to immediately contribute to clients
  • Experience, through on‑the‑job training and real, meaningful work engagements, how your academic experience translates to the professional environment
  • Learn directly from experienced Analysts, Associates, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Partners with specialized experience and technical knowledge across numerous industries and services
  • Work directly with a variety of clients across multiple industries ranging from start‑ups and family‑run businesses to multinational corporations

Requirements/

Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Currently taking Junior or Senior level finance/accounting level coursework
  • Ability to understand business models in detail, conduct in-depth market research, and have a basic understanding of M&A concepts. Including examining company data, including customer and product sales, conveying insights and trends to senior bankers, disseminating financial information, employing valuation methodologies to ascertain a company’s enterprise value, and crafting market and company reports for analysis purposes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn firm specific software with ease
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel in various industries
