Scope of WorkThis Athletic Training Resident is a post-graduate athletic training position, participating in a clinical residency that provides athletic training services under the supervision of attending physician, Corewell Health Sports Medicines Staff, and meets program goals under the direction of Corewell Health s Athletic Training Residency Program Director. The candidate will participate in the department s educational program development and community service activities.
Candidate will be responsible for meeting all the curriculum requirements of the Corewell Health Athletic Training Residency Program. General supervision and direction will be provided in patient care responsibilities. These responsibilities include providing clinical services to one or more physicians, working closely with physicians, other support personnel, and patients to ensure a well-functioning and efficient clinic with excellent evidence-based patient care.
The candidate will complete hands-on training in surgical services within the scope of practice of a surgical athletic trainer as defined by Corewell Health.
- Required Bachelor's Degree Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or master’s program
- Required Master s Degree or minimum two years experience working in a traditional athletic training setting
- Successful completion of competency-based orientation program
- Related and progressively more responsible experience in all aspects of athletic training
- CRT-Athletic Trainer, Certified - BOC Board of Certification and Accreditation required
- LIC-Athletic Trainer License - State of Michigan required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire required
