Description
Summary—Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Work LocationsThis position will support all Trinity Health Grand Rapids operated retail pharmacies, including Trinity Health Pharmacy – Wege Center, Trinity Health Pharmacy – Byron Center, Trinity Health Pharmacy – Cathedral Square, Trinity Health Pharmacy – Hudsonville, Trinity Health Pharmacy – Roosevelt Park, and Trinity Health Pharmacy – Rockford.
Education- Minimum:
High School education or equivalent. - Preferred:
Completion of formal pharmacy technician training program.
- Minimum:
Pharmacy Technician License (issued by Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Bureau of Professional Licensing) - Preferred:
Certified Pharmacy Technician by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Preferred: 1+ years pharmacy work experience in retail pharmacy setting.
- Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders per physician/pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, or protocols.
- Assist with drug procurement and inventory management. Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
- Contributes to effective and quality operation of the department.
- Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation; files documentation; answers telephone and pneumatic tube (where applicable); and handles cash transactions.
- Completes third party adjudication for prescription claims and processes return to stocks according to policy.
- Utilizes computerized prescription dispensing system to complete the following aspect of filling patient prescriptions:
