Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Compliance Management
  • Track and measure Schreiber EH&S performance and engage in a hands‑on role to create and implement plans to improve performance.
  • Help conduct and document US based compliance audits & Process Safety Management programs as required by regulatory requirements.
  • Lead implementation of Environmental & Safety Document Control.
  • Monitor adherence to local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
  • Assist with the execution of EH&S contracts (NFPA, Dakota, MSDS, PPE, etc.) and administrative support.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Perform job hazard analysis (JHA) to identify workplace risks.
  • Complete Machine Specific Procedures (MSP) in coordination with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols to mitigate risks.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and near misses to prevent future occurrences.
Training and Education
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for partners at all levels.
  • Communicate safety policies and procedures to partners.
  • Provide ongoing safety awareness campaigns.
  • Coordinate US based EHS Master Schedule (Annual regulatory, workshops, training, compliance items).
Emergency Response
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and emergency action plan.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and partner training on emergency procedures.
  • Manage emergency situations in accordance with established processes.
Waste Management
  • Oversee hazardous waste disposal procedures.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of hazardous materials.
Collaboration and Reporting
  • Work with other departments and the Safety Committee to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Provide regular reports to management on EHS performance and compliance status.
  • Manage Global Sustainability Metrics.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.
  • Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups. Establishes and audits Process Control Points (PCPs), Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met. Reviews incidents during which the procedures are not met and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.

Qualifications Education
  • Associate’s degree in environmental health & safety or related field preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (C SP) or other relevant certifications preferred.
Experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Schreiber Process Excellence and Problem‑Solving Methodologies.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable environmental and safety standards.
Skills Required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, establishing priorities, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Power BI, Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project as well as Workday, Dakota, Sphera, APSM Catalyst, and other computer tools as demonstrated through Wonderlic testing.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adaptability to work any and all shifts as needed on an ongoing basis.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
