Functions in the roles of change agent, mentor, facilitator of learning, leader, champion of scientific inquiry (application of research, evidence based practice and improvement science), and partner for clinical practice transitions.

Scope of Work

Using tools of consulting, mentoring, coaching and interprofessional collaboration, the nurse educator facilitates the professional role development and growth of nurses and other healthcare personnel along the continuum from novice to expert.

Functions in the roles of change agent, mentor, facilitator of learning, leader, champion of scientific inquiry (application of research, evidence based practice and improvement science), and partner for clinical practice transitions.

Nurse educators are REQUIRED to obtain their nursing administration or professional/specialty certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.

Qualifications

* Required Bachelor's Degree Nursing

* Preferred Master's Degree Nursing Education or Adult Education

* 5 years of relevant experience clinical experience related to area of focus Required

* Education and program development Preferred

* LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) -  State of Michigan Upon Hire required

* CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or

* CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required

* CRT-Specialty Certification - UNKNOWN Unknown Refer to job summary for more information required

* CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Emergency Department, Critical Care, Surgical Services, Endoscopy, Procedural Areas, Cath Lab/ Electrophysiology, Pediatric Sedation 120 Days required

* CRT-Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association Big Rapids, Reed City and Grand Rapids Emergency Departments 1 Year required

* CRT-Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association SHGR Emergency Departments 1 Year required

* CRT-Oncology Nursing Society - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Reed City and United Cancer Centers

SHGR - Educator supporting oncology services 1 Year required
