Human Resources Director

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as the site HR functional leader and provide strategic business support aligned with HR best practices and company objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to build the organization's goals and strategy related to talent, recruiting, and retention.
- Act as the HR leader in working with the union for grievance handling, bargaining, and chair for union negotiations (5‑year contract terms).
- Manage the site's HR function, ensuring accurate interpretation and administration of HR policies and programs and engage in day‑to‑day Human Resources functions, including employee relations, HR processes, rewards & recognition, talent management, and workforce planning.
- Handle and investigate grievances for the site.
- Drive performance‑based culture.
- Build and foster an effective working relationship with employees, supervisors, managers, the leadership team, and the HR team.
- Assist in business development strategy and formulate local HR strategy in conjunction with VP‑HR.
- Provide coaching, change‑management support, and guide managers and employees through actions or influence to support career development, business decision making, and performance management.
- Manage the annual compensation cycle, talent and succession planning, location reporting, and other business support requirements.
- Oversee the Human Resources budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
- Maintain collaborative partnerships with the Global HR team for effectiveness and may lead specialized projects and/or services.
- Align and achieve company performance goals through team/leadership dynamics.
- Monitor and ensure the organization complies with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommending best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Perform other duties as required or directed by leadership.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Human Resources or a related discipline such as Business Administration with a minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience in a unionized manufacturing facility as the lead HR contact for bargaining, grievance handling, and negotiations (mandatory).
- Understanding of federal labor law and compliance.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem‑solving and critical/analytical thinking skills; organized with a long‑term outlook in decision‑making.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage many tasks to achieve results.
- Maintains a professional, collaborative demeanor in performing duties while adhering to strict confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Preferred experience with SAP Success Factors.
- Preferred experience with ADP HRB and ADP Time & Attendance.
- Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks; strong attention to detail.
- Flexible and embracing change to foster success.
- Strong team player, with high work ethic, ambition, and commitment to win.
