HR Manager - Grand Rapids Area

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Grand Rapids region seeking HR Managers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with manufacturing goals.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention for a diverse workforce.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws and safety regulations.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems.
  • Lead training and development initiatives for manufacturing personnel.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and employee engagement.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in labor relations, including experience with collective bargaining agreements and union environments.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA).
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that support operational goals and improve employee engagement.

Bonus Qualifications

  • SHRM-SCP certification
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Familiarity with HRIS implementation and optimization
  • Proven track record in labor relations or unionized environments
