We’re looking for a technically sharp, people-savvy leader to helm our Web Development department. As Web Development Team Lead, you’ll guide a cross‑functional group of Frontend and Backend Developers as well as Project Owners—those key strategic leads who help define the “what” and “how” of our client web work. This role demands a blend of technical oversight, team mentorship, and operational awareness to ensure smooth delivery across multiple marketing‑driven web initiatives.

This role reports to Lead of Performance Services and is a cornerstone in ensuring our department meets both technical standards and billable hour goals.

Optimize our web development team for efficient planning and execution of marcom CMS‑powered websites, integrated with ddm’s larger client offerings around digital media, creative, and content creation.

• Oversee execution of all web development projects, ensuring quality, scalability, and performance
• Collaborate with Project Owners to evaluate project scopes, technical architectures, and development feasibility
• Provide guidance on stack choices (primarily PHP/Laravel or Word Press, Vue.js, MySQL) and support the team in navigating technical blockers
• Ensure strong QA practices are in place and followed through development and deployment

• Lead a team of full‑time Frontend and Backend Developers, as well as Project Owners
• Conduct regular 1:1s, growth planning, and performance reviews
• Align team activities with business goals, balancing velocity with quality
• Foster a collaborative team culture that thrives on feedback, curiosity, and craftsmanship

• Provide mentorship and structure for Project Owners as they:
  • Define project scope and solution architecture
  • Partner with PMs and Creative to translate brand standards into performant UI/UX
  • Act as strategic leads interfacing with clients and internal stakeholders
• Ensure Project Owners are effectively bridging client needs with dev team execution

• Monitor and optimize team utilization against billable targets
• Support resource planning in collaboration with project management and department heads
• Proactively identify potential under utilization or overcapacity issues and offer solutions

• Champion best practices in Jira and  for task management and cross‑team transparency
• Continually refine internal workflows and documentation to increase efficiency
• Keep a pulse on trends in web technology and tools that can improve delivery

• 5+ years of experience in web development (with Laravel, Vue.js, and MySQL), including at least 2 in a team leadership role
• Experience working within or leading cross‑functional teams, including strategic contributors like Project/Product Owners
• Deep understanding of web architecture, performance, and security
• Agency experience strongly preferred—must thrive in deadline‑driven, multi‑client environments
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics for non‑technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with project/task management tools (Jira, ) and Agile‑style workflows
• Bonus:
  Familiarity with UX/UI principles and collaboration workflows with creative teams
• Proven competence with the ability to manage and motivate others, with strong persuasive, analytical, project management, and organizational skills; able to gain consensus through influence and negotiation
