One of TEKsystems' clients is looking for qualified candidates to support their IT department's Helpdesk Team. These roles are high‑paced and require handling a high volume of calls. The position offers an opportunity to grow within IT and advance careers.
Job OverviewHybrid:
Onsite cadence – the first week for training, with varying Friday shifts.
Under direct supervision, the role provides technical advice, guidance, and training to customers using hardware and software programs. It involves troubleshooting, restoring service, gathering documentation for next‑level support, performing root cause analysis, and contributing to the maintenance of knowledge and call‑tracking databases.
Essential Functions- Serve as the first point of contact for end users reporting hardware or software issues, maintaining service and customer satisfaction levels.
- Create concise, timely, and detailed documentation of service requests, incidents, and change orders following established processes and procedures.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills—including patience, empathy, listening, and follow‑through—while resolving routine issues or providing mini‑training sessions.
- Collaborate with experienced colleagues to resolve technical problems and, when necessary, follow documented escalation processes.
- Analyze service restoration to return functionality swiftly, even when the cause is unknown.
- Document best practices and triages, supporting documentation and controls to prevent future problems.
- Seek learning opportunities from more experienced IT Support Technicians.
- 1–2 years of IT Service Desk experience.
Pay range: $17.00–$18.00 per hour.
