Candidate must be located within 90 miles from Lansing, MI at time of submission. Relocation not allowed. Schedule is hybrid – will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week. (Tuesdays/Wednesdays are required onsite days). We can accept H1b, H4, TN and other valid work visas for IT. However we cannot accept OPT or CPT visas at this time.

Description:

Our client is looking for a Cloud Delivery Engineer/Analyst to assist Cloud Architects and the team in comprehending objectives, generating solutions, proving concepts, recommending solutions, and implementing decisions. This entry-level position will support the cloud architecture and engineering teams in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions across public, private, and hybrid environments. It is ideal for early‑career technologists who have foundational cloud knowledge and are eager to grow into a full cloud engineering or cloud architecture role.

Tasks
  • Assist senior cloud architects with the design and deployment of cloud solutions across AWS and GCP environments.
  • Support the build‑out of multi‑cloud environments, including public, private, and hybrid cloud models.
  • Help maintain and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure components.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist with infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools.
  • Participate in integrating cloud pipelines with existing Dev Ops systems.
  • Document architecture decisions, pipeline configurations, and deployment procedures.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and training activities.
  • Maintain clear and organized technical documentation for onboarding and future reference.
  • Support adherence to cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, PCI, etc.).
  • Assist in implementing secure configurations and monitoring controls.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into cloud requirements.
  • Participate in discussions with vendors, product specialists, and internal teams to evaluate technologies.
  • Support enterprise architecture reviews and solution assessments.
  • Assist with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of cloud workloads.
  • Help design and test workload migrations and disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Support integration of cloud services with on‑premises technologies (VMware, Cisco, Dell, Nutanix, etc.).
  • Leverage State of Michigan institutional knowledge to cloud engineering projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Ability to learn and apply cloud engineering concepts quickly.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and assist in developing cloud‑based solutions.
  • Interest in automation, Dev Ops, and continuous improvement.
  • Clear communication skills for explaining technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Clear and concise written and verbal communication is crucial to success and productivity in this role.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across teams.
  • Other desired skills: containerization, Linux, database skills, security and recovery, web services and APIs.
Skills Required
  • 1‑3 years – Cloud Delivery Analyst / Business Analyst
  • 1‑3 years – Knowledge of designing and developing dynamic cloud solutions in Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services and moving parts involved in continuous integration and delivery.
  • 1‑3 years – Solid understanding and skill with Dev Ops, web services and application programming interfaces (APIs).
  • 1‑3 years – Foundational institutional knowledge of State of Michigan platforms, cloud architecture, security requirements and processes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with tooling and automation to enable seamless automation of infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
  • Experience with pipeline design and architecture to improve development flow and delivery.
  • Experience creating, maintaining and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure.
  • Cloud security and compliance experience
