We are seeking a SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) Functional SME to join our team.

This role will involve leading SAP VMS assessments, conducting fit-gap analysis, facilitating business discovery workshops, evaluating automotive business processes, developing migration roadmaps, and supporting SAP S/4

HANA transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in SAP VMS, automotive industry processes, SAP S/4

HANA, system integrations, business process analysis, and stakeholder management, along with a passion for driving digital transformation within automotive and manufacturing environments.

Job Description:

The SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) Functional SME will serve as a subject matter expert for SAP VMS solutions, supporting assessments, implementations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives within automotive and manufacturing environments. The SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) Functional SME will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to evaluate current-state processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend future-state solutions.

The SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) Functional SME will play a critical role in conducting discovery workshops, documenting business requirements, evaluating automotive workflows, and developing strategic roadmaps for SAP modernization initiatives. The SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) Functional SME will also assess system integrations and support migration strategies involving SAP S/4

HANA and dealer management systems. The SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) Functional SME will provide functional leadership and guidance throughout project life cycles.

Required Experience:

7+ years to 12+ years of core SAP functional experience with deep specialization in SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS).

Minimum of 1 – 2 full-cycle SAP implementation projects.

Proven experience leading multiple end-to-end SAP implementations, assessments, upgrades, or transformation initiatives.

Experience with in automotive or manufacturing industries.

Hands‑on experience or strong architectural knowledge of SAP S/4

HANA.

Experience with SAP Fiori applications and user experience enhancements is highly preferred.

Understanding of system integration technologies including IDOC, BAPI, and XML interfaces.

Experience with data migration strategies and system modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct fit-gap analysis and discovery workshops with business stakeholders, including OEMs, distributors, and dealers.

Analyze current-state business processes and identify opportunities for optimization and transformation.

Gather, document, and validate business requirements, pain points, and operational challenges.

Develop functional roadmaps for migrating legacy SAP VMS environments to SAP S/4

HANA and modern architectures.

Evaluate and assess automotive business processes including:

• Vehicle Master Data
• Action Matrix
• Variant Configuration
• Pricing
• Warranty (WTY)
• Spare Parts Management

Assess and document integrations between SAP VMS and core SAP modules including:

• SAP SD (Sales and Distribution)
• SAP MM (Materials Management)
• SAP FI/CO (Finance and Controlling)
• SAP CS (Customer Service)

Collaborate with business and technical teams to define future-state solutions.

Provide recommendations for process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies.

Support SAP transformation initiatives and modernization programs.
