Systems Administrator
Summary
This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure—including (but not limited to) servers, software, storage, and other enterprise systems. The Systems Administrator ensures system reliability, performance, and security by monitoring operations, applying updates, and troubleshooting issues. Additionally, the role involves managing user access, implementing backup and recovery processes, and supporting the day-to-day technical operations.
The role collaborates with other IT team members to optimize environments and support business continuity. This is a hybrid position with a mix of remote and on-site duties.
Job Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and monitoring of server environment
- Management of VMware virtual server hosts configured for metro-clustering
- Guest operating system and software installation/upgrades
- Hardware and firmware updates
- Manage backups and restores
- Performance monitoring and overall efforts to minimize system downtime
- Directory management (Active Directory on-premises/Entra e)
- User/Device security configuration, including SSO and app integrations with Microsoft Entra
- Group policy management
- Provisioning automation (Power Shell scripting, Graph integrations, etc.)
- License management
- Microsoft Exchange:
Exchange Online/365, on-prem relays, email security - Shared storage management:
Everpure, Dell-EMC Isilon, Synology, Veeam backup management, file share security - Software/device deployment: MECM (imaging, distribution, patch management), MDM (Intune, Workspace One, etc.)
- Print management
- Cybersecurity: threat discovery and mitigation, root cause analysis/investigation, disaster recovery, vulnerability/risk management, perform audit and assessment duties
- Break/fix resolution through help desk ticket escalation
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Project management
- Perform tasks outside of regular business hours as required
- Travel to other locations as required
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
- Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent certifications/work experience
- Minimum 5 years of IT experience managing servers, enterprise software, and online/on-prem domain services
- Ability to work independently to research and resolve critical issues
- Ability to forge and maintain positive and productive vendor relationships
- Demonstrates effective teamwork
- Demonstrates strong project management skills
- Demonstrates information management skills to document, communicate, explain, interpret, and present data
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic focused on effective results, minimal user disruption, and customer service
