One of TEKsystems’ clients is looking for qualified candidates to support their IT department’s Helpdesk Team. These positions are high‑paced and require the ability to handle a high volume of calls. They are an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to grow their IT support skills and advance their careers within the organization.
Essential Functions- Serve as the primary point of contact for end users reporting hardware or software issues in a fast‑paced environment, meeting or exceeding defined service levels and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Follow established processes, policies and procedures to create concise, timely and detailed written documentation of activities related to service requests, including incidents, requests and change orders.
- Demonstrate strong customer‑service skills—patience, empathy, active listening and follow‑through—and use general knowledge of services and departmental functions, along with triage experience, to resolve routine issues or provide brief training to users.
- Collaborate with more experienced colleagues to resolve technical issues and, when required, follow documented escalation procedures. Perform service‑restoration analysis to return functionality to users as quickly as possible, even when the root cause is not yet determined.
- Document best practices and triage findings, work with various technical teams to create or improve documentation, and maintain the knowledge and call‑tracking databases to prevent future problems.
- Seek opportunities for learning from more experienced IT Support Technicians on the team.
- 1–2 years of IT Service Desk experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware and software systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
- Pay range: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour (Contract to Hire).
