POS QA Tester (Retail Point of Sale

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)

We are seeking an experienced POS QA Tester with a strong background in Retail Point of Sale (POS) testing and payment systems validation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in end-to-end retail transaction testing, API testing, backend integrations, SQL validation, and test automation. You will work closely with product owners, developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of POS applications and payment workflows.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of Retail POS applications.
• Validate POS enhancements and ensure stable releases through comprehensive regression testing.
• Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to validate complex retail and payment workflows.
• Execute integration testing across POS, mobile, web, and backend systems.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, ReadyAPI, or similar platforms.
• Validate API request/response payloads and backend orchestration.
• Verify data flow between POS systems and downstream applications.
• Analyze API logs and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Perform database validation using SQL queries.
• Create detailed test cases, defect reports, and execution reports.
• Contribute to automation frameworks and maintain regression test suites using Robot Framework.
• Manage test cases, defects, and documentation using Azure Dev Ops (ADO) and Wiki.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and distributed teams to ensure timely delivery.

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on Retail POS testing.
• Hands-on experience with retail payment systems and transaction lifecycle validation.
• Strong understanding of retail POS workflows, payment processing, and end-to-end transaction testing.
• Experience in API testing using Postman, Swagger, REST APIs, or similar tools.
• Experience with backend system integration testing.
• Hands-on experience in SQL Server database testing and data validation.
• Experience with Robot Framework for test automation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and QA best practices.
• Experience using Azure Dev Ops (ADO) for test management and defect tracking.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Git Hub Copilot, or Microsoft Copilot for test case creation, automation, defect analysis, and productivity improvements.

• Experience working in enterprise retail environments.
• Knowledge of payment gateways, payment integrations, and backend services.
• Agile, Scrum, or Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
• Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and adopting emerging QA technologies.
