Supporting the modernization of internal tools, applications, and business technology solutions. Contributing to infrastructure, security, development, analytics, or business technology initiatives based on team placement. Depending on business needs and project scope, interns may have the opportunity to partner with colleagues across Manufacturing, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Governance & Security, Service Management or other IT teams to contribute to solutions that support the organization.

Applying technical and analytical skills to identify opportunities, investigate issues, and recommend solutions. Participating in Agile team practices while balancing project-based work and day-to-day operational priorities. Utilizing industry-standard technologies and platforms to support business operations and digital transformation initiatives. Building technical, professional, and leadership skills through mentorship, networking, and exposure to senior IT leaders.

The Steelcase IT organization supports business processes through technology, enables business growth through data and insights, and helps drive technology innovation across the organization. Interns are placed on teams across areas such as Infrastructure, IT Security, Software Development, and other business technology functions, where they contribute to meaningful work that supports our global business. Throughout the internship, you'll gain hands-on experience working on prioritized projects and business initiatives while receiving support through regular feedback, mentorship, and exposure to senior IT leaders.

You'll collaborate with global IT teams, learn Agile ways of working, and gain experience balancing project work with day-to-day operational needs.

Pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in a STEM-related field and actively enrolled in a degree-seeking program throughout the internship. Ability to work full-time during the summer internship program. Ability to work on-site in the Grand Rapids area throughout the internship. Ability to travel between Steelcase locations in the Grand Rapids area, as needed. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, IT Security, Informatics, Information Science/Technology, Management Information Systems, Security and Risk Analysis, or another related STEM field. Demonstrating experience through coursework, personal projects, student organizations, teaching assistant roles, research, or other extracurricular involvement. Showing an interest in software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data analytics, platform engineering, or other technology-focused disciplines. Applying strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in collaborative team environments.

Demonstrating curiosity, initiative, adaptability, and a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
