Trust & Estates Attorney

A respected law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Estate Planning Practice Team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney with relevant experience in tax, estate planning, and trust and estate administration, including candidates transitioning from accounting or other professional services backgrounds.

The position offers the opportunity to work closely with high-net-worth clients on matters such as trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and related tax issues, while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

• A minimum of two years of law firm experience.
• Experience in estate planning, including drafting, implementing, and administering sophisticated lifetime and testamentary planning strategies and handling estate and trust administration.
• Confident in advising high net worth individuals, families, and family offices, drafting wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and ancillary documents.
• Strong ability to research and projection of tax implications of planning techniques, preparation of client educational and summary materials, and meeting and communicating directly with clients to advance their goals.
• Hold a JD and be admitted to the Michigan Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.
