About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Supply Chain Operations to lead and optimize their end-to-end supply chain functions. This senior leadership role, based in our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility, is responsible for managing all aspects of procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics, a proven track record in driving efficiency and cost savings, and exceptional leadership skills.
You will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust supply chain strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and ensure competitive advantage. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex vendor relationships. Your leadership will be critical in ensuring the seamless flow of goods and materials, from sourcing to final delivery.
- Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Oversee all aspects of procurement, logistics, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure supplier performance.
- Implement and manage inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supply chain operations with business needs.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of success in developing and implementing effective supply chain strategies.
- Extensive experience in procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be willing to work on-site at our Grand Rapids, Michigan location and be legally authorized to work in the US.
