Got a knack for tracking down the right material at the right price, right on time? We want to talk to you.
Paragon is looking for a
Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. You’ll be the person who keeps critical materials flowing to our shop floor — sourcing raw materials, managing mill certifications, and coordinating outsourced processing so production never misses a beat. If you thrive on solving supply problems before they become production problems, this role is built for you.
- Source major materials, components, and select outsourced services to hit the sweet spot of cost, quality, and on-time delivery
- Build and manage supplier relationships that actually work — for us and for them
- Issue and track purchase orders against Engineering stock lists and the Purchasing Calendar
- Partner with Engineering to verify material specs/grades and review certificates of conformance and mill certs for compliance (ASTM and similar standards)
- Own outsourcing coordination for an assigned group of vendors — writing clear scope-of-work instructions, tracking status, and coordinating logistics with shipping and receiving
- Keep internal and external stakeholders in the loop on job status, delivery timing, and quality issues
- Serve as backup for the Outsourcing Lead when needed
- 2–5 years of purchasing experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment (required)
- Working knowledge of
ERP systems
— Epicor experience is a big plus, but any ERP background gets you in the door - Solid math and problem-solving chops
- High school diploma or GED (additional training/experience a plus)
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and industry-standard purchasing software
- Bonus points:
familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, or NQA-1 (nuclear quality) requirements — don’t have it? We’ll teach you.
- Be the connective tissue between Engineering, Suppliers, and the Shop Floor — your work directly keeps production moving
- Room to grow into outsourcing lead role and broader supply chain ownership
- Work with a team that values detail, follow-through, and getting it right the first time
Regular sitting and use of hands/fingers for handling tools, objects, and controls. Occasional lifting/moving up to 30 lbs.
