Job Description
Eng. is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations for a growing civil engineering firm. This role is responsible for general bookkeeping, overseeing financial transactions, preparing accurate financial statements, processing payroll and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Responsibilities- Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and providing recommendations to the leadership team
- Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position
- Oversee the company’s financial operating system
- Manage cash flow and provide forecasting on a weekly basis
- Review employee timesheets and expense reports on a weekly basis and process corporate payroll on a bi-weekly basis
- Coordinate with subconsultants to process invoices and billings and generate checks on a weekly basis
- Process billings on a monthly basis and ensure that contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements
- Oversee all audit and internal control operations
- Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to the leadership team
- Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
- Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization scales
- Set targets for and supervise all accounting and human resources personnel
- Ensure all insurance and 401K policies are renewed on an annual basis
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- 5 years related experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively and cooperatively
- 7 years related experience
- CPA
Eng., Inc. is a Civil Engineering and Surveying firm working primarily with Michigan municipalities on projects including streets, water and sewer infrastructure, sidewalks, pathways, and parking lots, and Drain and Water Resources Commissioners on storm water management and complex water resources projects.
