This is a full-time, on-site role located in Grand Rapids, MI, for a General Manager - Operations & Engineering. The General Manager will oversee day-to-day operations and engineering functions, ensuring organizational efficiency and excellence. Key responsibilities include leading and managing cross-functional teams, monitoring budgets, improving processes, developing operational strategies, and ensuring top-tier customer service. Collaboration with stakeholders and aligning business objectives with operational goals will be central to the role.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all aspects of Operations and Engineering, driving continuous improvement across manufacturing, welding, fabrication, electronic assembly, and shipping/distribution.
- Oversee plant-level operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in a job shop environment.
- Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, resource allocation, and workflow management.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and logistics teams to deliver customized, high-quality solutions.
- Manage inventory control, procurement, and supplier relationships for cost-effective sourcing and timely material flow.
- Champion ERP system utilization and data-driven decision-making.
- Monitor and influence P&L performance through strategic operational improvements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence across all plant and engineering teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in operations and engineering leadership in manufacturing or job shop environments.
- Ability to excel in Team Management, with skills in leadership, mentoring, and team-building.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and P&L oversight.
- Salary range of $95,000 - $105,000 plus bonus
