Position Summary:

The manufacturing Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes within an industrial plant, partnering cross-functionally to improve efficiency quality and production performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes, designs new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.

• Improves manufacturing efficiency by conducting time studies, evaluating results, and planning workflow to implement new processes.

• Designs work-holding and fixture solutions that improve consistency, quality, and efficiency in assembly and testing.

• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

• Demonstrates ability to utilize continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma tools to lead the development, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes for all areas of production.

• Conducts complex analysis with knowledge of set up reduction, 5S, line balancing, root cause, PLC logic and standards, cell layouts, and machine designs.

• Prepare Statements of Work to supply vendors for specialized equipment.

• Oversee support teams to coordinate the build and installation of a machine.

• Analyze manufacturing activities to determine manufacturing capacity and design, improve production methods, and fabricate or modify manufacturing processes.

• Develops methods to understand workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace to ensure maximum efficiency.
