Performs routine and non-routine assignments involving engineering principles or techniques for product manufacturing. Production documentation, product launch documentation, process experimentation and studies, data collection and processing, assistance with manufacturing equipment development for current products and processes and VA/VE. Structured Co‑op schedule that will include time in multiple areas of our production and Engineering environments.

• Must be a current GVSU Engineering Program Student.
• Strong hands‑on mechanical skills and familiarity with hand tools.
• Problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and good organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Solid Works, AutoCAD.
• Background in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred.

Genesis Seating is a product‑complete supplier where high‑end products are designed, assembled, and shipped directly to the distributor or end‑user. Our capabilities include a full‑service upholstery shop with dedicated work areas for each product line.

Founded in 1994, Genesis Seating was established to fit a growing need for a product‑complete supplier in the furniture marketplace. Outsourcing is a trend that continues to gain momentum, as leaders in most industries focus on value‑creation measurements and investment return methodologies. While Genesis initially focused on curved plywood seating, it soon evolved to include significant non‑curved plywood components and assemblies.

Even the term "seating" in the name is now misleading, as we produce several case‑good items, screens, tables, etc.
