Job SummaryGaishin Manufacturing – Grand Rapids is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented CNC Machinist to join our C‑Shift team. The CNC Machinist will operate and monitor Swiss‑style and Mill/Turn CNC lathes, ensuring the production of high‑quality precision parts in line with company and customer standards.
This weekend shift offers a unique opportunity: work just 36 hours over 3 days and get paid for a full 40‑hour week— a great option for work‑life balance while building a long‑term career in precision manufacturing.
Our Grand Rapids Facility Features:- (1) Nakamura‑Tome JX200
- Operate CNC Swiss‑style and Mill/Turn lathes to produce precision parts.
- Perform in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Monitor equipment for proper operation and elevate issues to set‑up technicians or supervisors as needed.
- Follow all quality standards, production procedures, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members and provide clear shift handoffs to ensure smooth operations.
- Minimum 2 years of CNC operation experience (Swiss‑style experience preferred).
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Understanding of basic production processes and quality checks.
- Strong attention to detail and dependable work ethic.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks during a full shift.
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience operating Swiss‑style lathes or multi‑axis machines.
- Background in aerospace or medical manufacturing.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
