AUTOMOTIVE PARTS SPECIALIST

The Parts Specialist sells parts to all available customers over the counter, through the shop or on the telephone.

Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in parts management, inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment components.
  • Ability to read parts diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer catalogs.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
  • Ford or Lincoln Parts Counter Experience
  • OSW and Reynolds knowledge
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One year in a vehicle parts department preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist service technicians in identifying correct parts for repairs and maintenance.
  • Research parts using manufacturer catalogs, diagrams, and electronic databases.
  • Process parts requests, orders, returns, and warranty claims.
  • Maintain inventory levels through regular stock monitoring and replenishment.
  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts shipments.
  • Issue parts to technicians and accurately document transactions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source hard‑to‑find or emergency parts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within company software systems.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of parts and materials.
  • Monitor backorders and communicate status updates to technicians and management.
  • Support cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, take and hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
