Job Title and Shift

We are looking for a 1st Shift (M–Th – 5:00 am to 3:30 pm) Finish Sprayer. Candidate should have at least 12–14 months of sprayer experience.

Pay range is $17–$22, based on experience.

Summary

The finishing operator is responsible for operating the finishing line efficiently, performing secondary operations as needed or assigned, following all procedures, completing paperwork accurately, and performing job set‑ups as required while pursuing training opportunities that further job skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Beginning of shift: check routing/E‑schedule for open balances on current jobs; review any needed or special instructions to run current job; ensure the area is set up with all necessary materials and equipment; run first cycle on each job and complete a first‑piece inspection.
  • While running production:
    • Sanding, cleaning, and preparing exposed grade plywood surface using an orbital sander up to 220 grit.
    • Identifying and repairing typical wood flaws such as lathe checking, flaking, veneer tear‑out, orbital swirl marks, voids, etc.
    • Using putty, lightning bond, and other materials as required.
    • Loading and unloading parts from the finishing line, including changing hooks as required.
    • Sealer sanding as required; parts typically need 400‑grit sandpaper after the first coat of varnish.
    • Loading and unloading parts from the laser etching machine.
    • Packing finished parts properly before moving them to shipping.
    • Meeting production rate and quality standards.
    • Returning any tools/fixtures/etc. to their proper locations if not being used in production.
  • As required:
    • Ensuring hooks are in good operating condition.
    • Bringing any hooks for repair into the tool room.
  • Using basic measurement and math skills:
    • Familiarity with and ability to utilize a tape measure, ruler, and micrometers.
    • Demonstrating basic math skills.
    • Knowledgeable with the decimal system.
