Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Kentwood that are seeking skilled Tool Makers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, alter, and repair a wide range of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate conventional and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM.
• Perform precision measurements using various inspection tools to ensure part conformity.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on tooling to minimize downtime.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program as a Tool Maker or equivalent experience
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of various machining processes, tools, and materials
• Demonstrated ability to operate and program manual and CNC machinery
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CNC programming (G-code).
• CAD/CAM software proficiency (e.g., Solid Works, Mastercam).
• Metrology experience using CMMs or laser trackers.
• Robotics or automation experience in a manufacturing setting.
