Senior CNC Programmer / Process Engineer (Swiss & Multi-Axis Turning)

Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite) – $95,000 – $105,000 DOE – Direct Hire

• Create, refine, and maintain CNC programs for Swiss‑style and multi‑axis lathes
• Use CAD/CAM tools such as Esprit and/or Mastercam
• Read complex blueprints and apply GD&T to develop efficient machining strategies
• Select tooling, work holding, and fixturing to improve accuracy, quality, and throughput
• Support first‑article inspections and partner with Quality to meet customer and aerospace standards
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to reduce downtime and scrap
• Support setup technicians and operators with hands‑on training and best practices
• Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on cycle time, tooling performance, and process stability
• Maintain accurate documentation, including programs, setup sheets, tooling lists, and process standards
• Support a safe, organized, and professional manufacturing environment

• 3+ years of CNC programming experience with strong lathe experience
• Hands‑on Swiss‑style CNC lathe experience
• Ability to be productive quickly in a Swiss machining environment
• Experience with Esprit and/or Mastercam
• Strong G‑code and M‑code knowledge
• Ability to read complex prints and apply GD&T
• Experience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems independently
• Ability to work well with production, quality, and engineering teams
• Experience taking projects from print to program to production

• Aerospace and/or medical manufacturing experience
• High‑mix / low‑volume or job‑shop experience
• ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 experience
• Experience improving cycle time, scrap, tooling performance, or uptime
• Technical certifications or formal CNC training

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Associate degree or technical certification in machining or manufacturing technology (preferred)
