Overview

The company is currently seeking a 2nd shift Welder in Boyne City, MI. Salary starting at $21.51/hr.

• Set up, adjust and operate a MIG or TIG welding process to join metal parts by spot or continuous weld seams in accordance with dimensional specifications.
• Position parts in welding jigs or clamp assemblies using fixed measuring gauges, rigged stop gauges or scales to control dimensional requirements.
• Weld metal components to fabricate products, parts, or equipment.
• Regulate current input to obtain proper weld fusion; determine the number of welds to be placed; set automatic timing devices to ensure proper weld strength.
• Clean, dress, and replace electrodes.
• Work from drawings, sketches, templates, job layouts and welding instructions.
• Use scale, square, protractor and fixed gauges to set up, operate and check work.
• Know all welding symbols and operate oxygen–acetylene cutting torch.
• Perform other work-related duties as required.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6–12 months on-the-job welding experience
• Ability to interpret drawings
• Good verbal communication skills
• Previous shop experience with knowledge of manufacturing flow
• Ability to work under pressure
• Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks
• Ability to prioritize work
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Ability to read and write
