CNC Machinist, Grand Rapids

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team on the 2nd shift from 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday through Friday. This position involves operating CNC machines and occasionally supporting a small boring mill.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines on the 2nd shift, including various mills and lathes.
• Receive daily tasks and materials from the 2nd shift supervisor.
• Run jobs that vary in duration from a few hours to several days.
• Produce parts for automotive machines using in-house materials.
• Make program edits and assist with writing programs from scratch.
• Work collaboratively with the team to accomplish daily objectives.
• Operate additional equipment including Femco and Gilbert boring mills, as well as manual lathes and mills.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of CNC programming experience on Visi Software.
• 3-5 years of CNC machining experience.
• 5 years of experience in CNC machine setup.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and welding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Visi programming.
• Familiarity with materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, plastics, and mild steel.

Work Environment

Work in a well-equipped facility with five CNC mills, two CNC lathes, a Femco boring mill, and a Gilbert boring mill, along with multiple manual lathes and mills. The majority of the work involves machining mild steel, with occasional use of other materials. The position requires wearing appropriate safety attire.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
