Role Summary
Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the Fabrication Operator supports the materials management function of the fabrication department. The operator cuts, threads, grooves, tests, and bundles pipe and fittings to meet customer specifications.
Duties- Pipe threading, cutting, and grooving.
- Product quality testing through pressure and/or chemical tests.
- Painting products.
- Sandblasting if required by location.
- Material layout according to customer measurements and specifications.
- Read job prints.
- Participate in safety initiatives.
- Maintain quality and quantity performance and production standards.
- Learn how to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, hand trucks, and cranes.
- Maintain general housekeeping of the warehouse.
- Check assigned equipment for proper operation/functionality and communicate problems to the Warehouse Manager.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain safe work habits.
- Safely operate additional warehouse equipment.
- Attend meetings and training sessions.
- Other fabrication tasks as assigned.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Skills:
Ability to use standard office equipment, handheld barcode scanners, printers, and basic warehouse equipment. Basic math and reasoning skills. - Organization

Excellent work ethic; good verbal and communication skills; ability to work independently. - Cross-Functional
Skills:
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow direction from the Fabrication Manager. - Communication
Skills:
Ability to communicate clearly at all levels and to request assistance when needed. - Physical, Mental, and Visual
Skills:
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs; ability to stand, walk, lift, pull, and push throughout the shift. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. - Physical Environment: Exposure to typical fabrication shop temperatures and noise levels.
- Certification in forklift operation (preferred but not required).
