We're seeking qualified CNC Machine Operators to work at a premier manufacturing client in Grand Rapids, MI. With us, it's all about finding the job that's just right.
Direct hire. Pay rate: $28-31/hr based on experience.
- Shift premiums for night and weekend shifts
- Training on 1st shift up to 90 days
Shifts:
- Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm
- Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-3:00am
- Friday-Sunday 6:00am-6:00pm
- Friday-Sunday 6:00pm-6:00am
What's a typical day as a CNC Machine Operator? You'll be:
- Setting up and operating CNC lathes, Mills, DMG Mori to produce high-quality parts according to process documentation and production schedules.
- Performing complete machine setups, including tooling installation, offsets, bar feeder setup, and program verification.
- Monitoring machine performance and making necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.
- Conducting first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, pin gauges, thread gauges, and indicators.
- Interpreting blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Identifying and troubleshooting machining, tooling, programming, and equipment issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Performing routine operator maintenance and maintaining machine cleanliness.
- Completing production reporting, labor transactions, and quality documentation in JobBOSS and other company systems.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have 2+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC Mills, Lathes, DMG Mori, 2-axis, 3-axis, 5-axis Machines.
- Possess a strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, feeds and speeds, and precision manufacturing techniques.
- Can read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements.
- Are experienced with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, pin gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs.
- Are able to troubleshoot machining and tooling issues independently.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and can perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Meet vision requirements for AS9100 quality standards.
- Can lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 95% of the scheduled shift.
- Are a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident due to ITAR requirements.
