- Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with regulatory agencies are observed by employees, site safety goals, and administer safety initiatives
- Interface with regulatory agencies as required
- Ensure quality of product during process
- Provide technical and tactical support to the hourly employees
- Ensure the execution of the daily production plan
- Uses the production modules under the SAP system
- Ensure operations personnel perform quality work
- Participate in a daily meeting with production team
- Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns
- Provide feedback
- Supervise hourly personnel. The Production Manager has responsibility for overall operations management to achieve goals.
- 2+ years supervisor experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment; previous experience as department supervisor for larger facilities would also be a fit; industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. preferred
- Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions
- Demonstrable success in cultural 'turn around' a plus
- Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills
- Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Knowledge of operational management
- Knowledge of people management skills
- Experience in mining and/or heavy manufacturing industry preferred
- Technical credibility as it relates to industry, with a preference on mining
- Demonstrated ability to assess organizational and people issues, provide coaching and mentoring, and deliver solutions that improve facility performance
