Vylor is seeking Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Interns to support seed production facilities during summer 2027. As an EHS Intern, you will be assigned to a production location and work alongside site leaders, EHS professionals, and production teams on safety, occupational health, and environmental initiatives. This hands-on internship is designed to help students build practical EHS capabilities, understand agricultural production operations, and contribute to projects that strengthen workforce protection, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Some assignments may involve collaboration with or travel to additional production sites.
- EHS standards and compliance:
Support the review, interpretation, and application of Vylor safety, health, and environmental standards under the guidance of a site EHS leader. - Audits and field assessments:
Participate in leadership line walks, workplace assessments, and first-party audits; document observations and help develop and track corrective actions. - Industrial hygiene and ergonomics:
Assist qualified EHS professionals with industrial-hygiene activities involving noise, chemical-exposure monitoring, ergonomics, and other occupational-health priorities. - Training and communication:
Support the development, updating, and delivery of safety-training and onboarding materials for employees and seasonal workers. - Incident learning:
Participate in near-miss and incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action planning under appropriate supervision. - Continuous-improvement project:
Plan and complete an EHS improvement project using applicable regulations, recognized practices, site data, and Vylor standards; present findings and recommendations to site or EHS leaders. - Documentation and coordination:
Maintain accurate records, organize project data, and communicate progress, risks, and follow-up needs to key stakeholders. - Professional networking:
Build relationships with EHS professionals and operational leaders across Vylor to learn about programs, resources, and career paths.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, public health, or a related field.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and sound judgment.
- Ability to collaborate with employees, leaders, and technical professionals in a production environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to meet applicable company driving requirements.
- Coursework or experience related to occupational safety, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, incident investigation, or risk assessment.
- Experience working in manufacturing, agriculture, laboratory, field, or other operational environments.
- Experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, or presenting EHS-related data.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, or training experience through employment, coursework, or student organizations.
