Mel Trotter Ministries is a faith-based, nonprofit organization committed to providing safe shelter and supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. We work to create a structured, respectful environment where each person is treated with dignity and care.

As Grants Manager, you’ll help fuel Mel Trotter Ministries’ mission by guiding our grant strategy from proposal to closeout—so programs stay funded, compliant, and outcome-driven.

• Write, submit, and track grant proposals, reports, and renewals
• Manage grant compliance, documentation, deadlines, and audits
• Coordinate with internal teams to align budgets, narratives, and measurable outcomes
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, foundations, corporations, and community partners
• Monitor grant performance and support continuous improvement

• Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business, Communications, Social Work, Human Services, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 3–5 years of successful grant writing experience
• Experience managing multiple grant-funded projects; nonprofit experience preferred
• Background in homelessness, housing, behavioral health, or human services strongly preferred

Kick off the day by triaging your grant calendar—what’s due now, what’s brewing, and what needs a nudge. You’ll swing by a program team’s update to grab fresh stories and numbers, then settle in to tighten up a report so it’s clean, confident, and funder-friendly. After lunch, it’s a quick touchpoint with Finance to confirm details, followed by a call or email with a partner to keep relationships warm and expectations clear.

Before you head out, you’ll log progress, file supporting docs, and tee up tomorrow’s priorities—because a smooth closeout is a beautiful thing.
