Lactation Consultant - RN - Women Services

Overview

Works independently and collaboratively with members of the perinatal healthcare team to provide services to breastfeeding families.

Shift: Day Shift

• Develop, implement, and evaluate breastfeeding educational programs for patients and families, prenatally and postpartum.
• Provide breastfeeding assessment, support and counseling to inpatients and outpatients.
• Provide ongoing education and training for Birth Center staff and physicians.
• Collaborate with Birth Center staff and leadership to develop, implement and update, as needed, standards of care related to breastfeeding.

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Michigan
• Certified:
  Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) by the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP)
• Preferred:
  International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) (required within 2 years)
• RN with three years experience in a perinatal services

• Part time
• 24 hours per week
• Day shift
• 8a-4:30p and some 9a-5:30p
• Occasional evenings
