Position SummaryThe Director of Nursing (DON) is a key member of our facility’s executive leadership team, responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing services. This leader ensures the delivery of high-quality clinical care, fosters a culture of accountability, and implements best practices that support compliance, resident satisfaction, and staff engagement.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a $10,000 bonus and a quarterly bonus incentive based on key performance indicators (KPIs) to reward the efforts and achievements of our leadership team.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Clinical Leadership- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with federal, state, and facility guidelines.
- Establish strategic nursing goals and monitor KPIs to support clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and clinical audits.
- Recruit, retain, and mentor a high-performing team of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Oversee daily clinical operations, including staffing, scheduling, and emergency response planning.
- Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities for clinical staff.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
- Ensure person-centered care that respects resident rights, dignity, and preferences.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapy teams, social services, and families to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Serve as the clinical liaison with regulatory bodies, surveyors, and external partners.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal healthcare regulations, including infection control protocols.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of clinical documentation and MDS processes.
- Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and reduce clinical risks through data-informed decisions.
- Current RN license in the state of Michigan (required)
- Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
- Proven success in managing nursing departments, leading teams, and improving quality metrics
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulatory guidelines (CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, etc.)
- Excellent leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to lead through influence, innovation, and integrity
