Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nurse — 13-week inpatient behavioral health assignment in Grand Rapids, MI (49548). Seeking a skilled Behavioral Health RN with 2+ years of psychiatric nursing experience and an active Michigan RN license. • Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Behavioral Health / Travel Nurse
• Location: Grand Rapids, MI 49548 (On-site) — Michigan nursing jobs / Grand Rapids healthcare jobs
• Start Date: March 16, 2026
• End Date: June 15, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week. While 40 hours per week are guaranteed, there may be opportunities to pick up additional shifts, potentially working up to 48 hours per week; however, extra shifts are not guaranteed.
• Shift: 8-hour evenings (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) — Evening shift / behavioral health night shift
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call: None
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,900 - $2,000

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of behavioral health / psychiatric nursing experience (required) — psychiatric RN, mental health nursing, crisis management
• License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan (required)
• Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) (required)
• Strong clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and therapeutic communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team — interdisciplinary care, care coordination
• Excellent documentation, charting, and time management abilities — EMR experience preferred

• Assess patient care needs and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide and coordinate nursing care for individuals and groups in an inpatient behavioral health (psychiatric) setting
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic milieu for patients and staff
• Administer and monitor medications; observe for side effects and safety concerns — medication administration, psychopharmacology monitoring
• Perform mental status exams, suicide/homicide risk assessments, and crisis interventions as needed
• Educate patients and families/support systems and assist with discharge and aftercare planning — transitional care, community resources
• Document, report, and verify clinical information according to established policies and procedures
• Promote quality improvement, professionalism, and positive collaboration across departments
• May function as a clinical leader/charge nurse, delegating tasks and supporting staff development
