Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license – Michigan or compact state

• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience, preferably in psychiatric, behavioral health, or mental health nursing

• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric and behavioral health needs

• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and document progress

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans

• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations

• Promote a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff

• Participate in crisis intervention and support de-escalation efforts as needed
