About the Unit
9 Center is a 24‑bed Med/Surg unit at Butterworth Hospital that cares for general medical and surgical patients. Employees are drawn to 9‑Center for its variety of patients and team environment. The team is known for expertise in nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters, urologic care, enteral and parenteral feeding, and wound, ostomy, tube and drain management.
Scope of WorkDeliver nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the State of Michigan. Demonstrate competency through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Uphold ANA standards of professional performance, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health to achieve optimal outcomes.

- Bachelor in Nursing required within 5 years.
