RN Nights - Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Night Shift (United States of America).

Full-time – Nights. Compensation:
Starting at $34/hr (eligible for increase based on experience). Shift differential and sign‑on bonuses available! Days worked: rotating schedule; weekend requirement.

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is a nationally recognized leader in inpatient rehabilitation, providing hospital‑level care for patients with complex neurological conditions. As an RN in the SCI unit, you’ll provide comprehensive nursing care, including patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and clinical coordination for patients with high‑acuity neurological needs. You’ll collaborate closely with LPNs, therapists, and physicians to manage complex medical conditions, support intensive therapy, and facilitate safe discharge planning.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care within the scope of the RN license, certification, or registration and as required by law.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop patient‑centered plans of care aligned with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Delegate and supervise non‑licensed staff, ensuring care follows departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, report unexpected events or near‑misses, and assist with data collection and audits.
- Promote patient safety and report safety concerns without fear of reprisal.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service, handling confidential information discreetly and sensitively.
- Maintain professional relationships with physicians and colleagues from other disciplines.
- Support employee safety by communicating risks and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Assist in staff selection, orientation, and mentoring of new team members and RN students when requested.
- Adhere to financial policies, including payroll practices and cost‑saving measures.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
- Associate’s degree in nursing required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) required by 3rd anniversary; training and certification funded by Mary Free Bed.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous RN experience, especially in rehabilitation or acute care, preferred but not required.
- Strong critical thinking, decision‑making, delegation, and leadership skills.
- Time‑management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints, prioritize, handle interruptions, and solve problems with unexpected issues.
