Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Care Supervisor – Nights Night Shift (United States of America)

Employment Type:

Full‑time – Nights.

Compensation:
Starting at $34/hr plus $4 differential (eligible for increase based on experience).

Days Worked:
Rotating schedule; every 3rd requirement.

Hours:

36hrs/week; 6:00 pm – 6:30 am.

Summary

During the assigned shift, the Clinical Care Supervisor is responsible for the clinical care of patients at Mary Free Bed. Depending on hours worked, the Clinical Care Supervisor may also be the most senior person at the hospital and is responsible for decision‑making and communication during that time. In addition to shift responsibilities, the Supervisor will provide input into employee performance along with the Nursing Directors.

The Supervisor provides daily oversight of clinical nursing care to assure safe, evidence‑based patient care, and works with all other medical, clinical, and therapeutic disciplines to ensure optimal service and superior outcomes. The Supervisor also provides input & feedback on clinical decision‑making and best practice to the Nursing Directors and the Chief Nursing Officer, conducts Nursing Huddles, participates on committees, councils, and works as requested by the Nursing Directors.

Job Responsibilities Quality Pillar of Excellence

Primary focus: delivery of quality nursing care. Working with all staff to assure consistent delivery of nursing care according to established policies, procedures, and protocols, including creating equitable staffing assignments, mentoring new staff, ensuring nursing presence at team conferences, communicating with physicians, safety monitors, and following up on occurrence reports as well as customer service recovery when needed.

  • The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring appropriate Plans of Care and individualized patient goals are established ough audit activity, the Supervisor ensures Plans of Care are updated appropriately and all education needs are met prior to discharge.
  • The Supervisor reviews and provides input to Nursing Directors on nursing policies, procedures, standards of patient care and practice; addresses non‑compliance and validates key nursing tactics.
Key Performance Indicators

Responsible for understanding performance measures within the Nursing Department and collaborating with staff to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans. Implements changes directed by the Chief Nursing Officer or Nursing Directors, provides feedback, and participates in coaching as requested.

Quality Improvement

Participates in the department’s quality improvement program, providing innovative, evidence‑based solutions to enhance rehabilitation nursing care.

Patient Safety

Provides safe environment for patients and staff, evaluates risks, acts as patient advocate, responds to medical emergencies and codes per policy, and redirects off‑hours Intrathecal Baclofen calls.

Interdepartmental and Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Maintains effective communication and relationships with leadership, staff, physicians, and stakeholders; participates actively in interdisciplinary program meetings to evaluate and improve care at Mary Free Bed.

Accreditation and Regulatory Responsibilities

Assists Nursing Directors in implementing policies and procedures aligned with Joint Commission, CARF, CMS, and state standards; serves as resource for staff.

Service Pillar of Excellence Patient and Customer Satisfaction Programs

Assists Nursing Directors in implementing the MFB Patient Satisfaction Program.

  • Conducts daily patient rounds, addressing issues, performing recovery, welcoming patients/families, and introducing their role.
  • Conducts daily staff rounds to identify opportunities to Manage Up and offer positive feedback.
  • Works with Director of Nursing Services and Nursing Directors on action plans and implementation.
