About the unit
Unit 4 North is a 33‑bed unit at Butterworth Hospital specializing in orthopedic, trauma and burn care. Our multidisciplinary team includes nursing, physicians, APPs, rehabilitation therapists, and care managers to provide high‑quality, comprehensive care to patients with conditions such as polytrauma, gunshot wounds, falls, motor vehicle accidents, burns, and orthopedic complications following traumatic injuries.
Scope of work- Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
- Demonstrates competency through the critical‑thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Upholds the standards of professional performance described by the ANA, covering ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Strives to achieve optimal outcomes for patients.
- Associate’s in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (required within 5 years)
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) (required within 60 days)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) (required within 90 days)
