Job Overview
The Neuro Critical Care Unit is a 14‑bed Intensive Care Unit located in the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth Hospital. The unit is part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center and specializes in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions, including hemorrhagic stroke, ischemic stroke, seizures, and hydrocephalus requiring critical care. Nurses work in a collaborative team with nurse techs, intensivists, APPs, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, chaplains, and secretaries to provide specialized, patient‑family centered care.
Scopeof Work
The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader and following Corewell Health policies, the RN provides professional nursing care, documents teaching strategies for patients and families, and develops care plans that incorporate patient/family input and goals.
Qualifications- Associate Degree in Nursing (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required, within 5 years).
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – AHA or ARC (required, within 90 days).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required, within 6 months).
- Six months RN experience preferred.
