About the Unit
4H is a 22‑bed unit that cares for a variety of medical and surgical patients, specializing in digestive diseases. Our patient population is an even mix of colorectal and bariatric surgical cases, bowel obstruction, kidney failure, cellulitis, and falls. We are an accredited bariatric surgery center that focuses on continuous quality improvement and a dedicated team committed to high‑level care.

Scope of WorkActs as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to the healthcare team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families, coordinates with the RN or provider, and performs duties such as taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization, and acting as a safety attendant.
Ensures accurate and timely documentation.

- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days
