Job Summary
As the Occupational Health Nurse in Grand Rapids, MI, you will develop and administer employee health, wellbeing, and preventative health services. Your role includes managing medical surveillance and training related to Corporate Medical Services, Be Well, and EHS requirements, as well as facilitating care and case management for employee illness and injury.
Location:
Grand Rapids, MI – On‑Site 5 days per week.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
Associates Degree in Nursing required. - Current State Licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
- 3–5 years of experience in occupational health, case management, and clinical nursing.
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, and AED.
- Additional certifications recommended: AAOHN membership, COHN certification, CAOHC certification (if required by facility).
- Knowledge of community medical services for referrals.
- Effective organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with office programs and equipment.
- Teamwork and strong communication skills.
- Ability to maintain medical confidentiality.
- Flexible work schedule; minimal travel.
- Case Management: Coordinate referrals, complete forms, communicate with physicians, monitor cases, and facilitate return to work.
- Absence Management: Assist with form completion, communicate with physicians, and coordinate return to work.
- Medical Care: Conduct fitness assessments, drug/alcohol screens, periodic testing, initial injury/illness assessments, direct care, emergency care, and vaccination programs.
- Health and Wellness: Identify opportunities, lead Be Well initiatives, coordinate screenings, health fairs, and wellness sessions.
- Training: Conduct regulatory training and coordinate First Responder training.
- Consultation and Support: Provide counseling, consult with managers, build partnerships, and maintain communication with relevant teams.
- General: Ensure a safe working environment, promote cooperation, maintain compliance, and manage health records and medical facilities.
Reports to the EHS Manager, with a dotted line to Corporate Medical Services.
CompensationAnnual Base Salary Range: $56,300.00 – $. Compensation is based on seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation. The range reflects the national average. Benefits may vary by region, business alignment, union involvement, and employee status.
