PES School of Nursing is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our faculty as Adjunct Nursing Instructors for our growing Practical Nursing (PN) Program.
THIS IS NOT A FULLY REMOTE ROLE.
We are seeking passionate nurse educators who are committed to preparing the next generation of practical nurses through engaging classroom instruction, hands‑on skills training, and clinical education.
Position SummaryAdjunct faculty are part‑time employees hired on a 15‑week term appointment for a specific course assignment. Employment is offered one academic term at a time and is based upon program needs, student enrollment, and course availability. Appointments are made on a term‑by‑term basis. Completion of one term does not guarantee appointment for future terms.
CompensationFaculty are compensated using a flat‑rate, layered pay model based on their instructional assignment for each 15‑week term. (You can see our program catalog on our website to see which courses meet each requirement.)
Didactic Instruction Only $2,000
Didactic + Skills Laboratory $3,000
Didactic + Skills Laboratory + Clinical $4,000
Clinical Instruction Only $1,500
Compensation is paid monthly over the course of the 15‑week term.
Depending on assignment, adjunct faculty may:
- Deliver classroom (didactic) instruction.
- Facilitate nursing skills laboratory sessions.
- Supervise students in clinical settings.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.
- Utilize the Moodle Learning Management System for course communication and grading.
- Respond to student communications in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain compliance with PES School of Nursing policies and all Michigan Board of Nursing requirements.
- Participate in required faculty meetings, orientation, and training.
Applicants must possess:
- Current, unrestricted Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license. (We are not a compact state, and compact licenses will not be accepted.)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Strong computer proficiency and the ability to work within an online learning environment.
- Ability to have a flexible schedule and be available to students.
- Experience teaching in an allied health or nursing program
Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Previous nursing teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in a nursing or allied health program
- Experience with Moodle LMS
- Clinical supervision experience.
- Flexible adjunct teaching opportunities.
