Job Overview
The Medical ICU is a 24‑bed unit on the 8th floor of the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth Hospital. The unit treats critically ill patients, specializing in medically complex cases such as diabetic keto acidosis, mechanically ventilated patients, bone marrow transplant patients, sepsis, pneumonia, and many others.
Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care under the ANA scope of practice, applying the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge.
- Deliver patient‑family centered care, incorporating family input and goals into the plan of care.
- Develop and deliver teaching strategies for patients and families, documenting education and learning in the health record.
- Work under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures.
- Support quality patient outcomes through partnership and high‑quality nursing practices.
- Associate’s in Nursing (required) and Bachelor’s in Nursing (required within 5 years).
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 90 days).
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within 6 months).
- 6+ months RN experience preferred.
Part‑time Night Shift – 7:00PM to 7:30AM, variable days per week with alternate weekend scheduling.
